My husband took this image; I did the Photoshop work. He is the conservation chair for our local Audubon society and spends vast quantities of time in spring and early summer monitoring about 300 boxes that have been installed in strategic spots to provide nest cavities for a number of bird species, including American Kestrels, Barn Owls, Wood Ducks and passerines such as Western Bluebirds. One of the areas he visits is in the grasslands area in Merced County - home to many cattle ranches. He encountered this scene last week and captured this great image of a modern-day "cowboy", complete with cool sunglasses and Hawaiian shirt.
I loved the image and could not resist tinkering with it.
