We have a charming wildflower that grows absolutely everywhere - very common - Miner's Lettuce, Claytonia parviflora. Evidently, it's edible and eaten by the Gold Rush miners to prevent scurvy. I haven't tasted it, but I feel very affectionate for these lovely little plants who are so enthusiastic about life. The plants can take various forms - tall, small and possibly we have more than one species. Some have all white blossoms, some have red on them. I saw these blooms last Saturday and thought these were just doggone charming and pretty.
